That it is about family, friendship & adolescence.

What was their age, gender, education level?

It's aimed at boys and girls in primary and secondary school between the age of nine and twelve.

What is their relationship to the audience? What was the likely attitude to the message? Did they take into account cultural differences into consideration?

The audience was very receptive. The attitude to the message was very positive since it was and still is very relatable to the intended audience since it's still spoken of today.

What information did the audience need?

That the show focused on Alex Russo, a teenage wizard living on Waverly Place, New York City. She trains with her brothers, Justin & Max. Who also have magical abilities. They train, knowing that one of them will control the family's powers. The show focuses on Alex struggling to hide her abilities while she deals with personal and social situations.

By including slapstick humour and exaggerated acting while the lead actress was praised for her comic timing and sarcastic acting it allowed message to be easier received by the audience since the humour gave the show a nice balance between humour and seriousness.

What was the audience's expectations?

Positive, since Disney had managed to make slew of popular tween targeted TV shows at the time and this was expected to be no different.

Treatment (Old)

Title – The Mystery of Stocknisgrange

Genre – Fantasy & Mystery

Duration – 2 mins

Target Audience – My targeted audience is tweens; by excluding violence, drugs, gore, death and sexual content, I believe the pilot episode will be appropriate for my assigned audience.

Outline – In a small, mysterious town, an isolated individual is on the edge of unraveling a dangerous truth. As cryptic messages, including one carved into their front door, hint at an unseen observer, the narrator reveals a chilling secret: they've created a device capable of catastrophic destruction. While they struggle with paranoia, haunting memories, and the fear of their invention falling into the wrong hands, the narrator's isolation deepens, leaving them as the town's unsung protector.

As they grapple with the decision to destroy their research, the stakes escalate—culminating in a fiery incident at a secluded cabin. While the media chalks it up to an absurd accident (a faulty toaster), the narrator's final words hint at deeper layers of conspiracy and chaos when he's fallen into a hole. Mixing tension, mystery, and humour, this story explores the fine line between genius and madness, and the cost of knowledge too dangerous to exist.

Character Breakdown – Your main characters:

Young adult male with brown hair, grey eyes, stubbly beard and fat.

Audio Elements – What sound elements will you include and how will you produce them?
• Effects (Foley) – Heavy breathing, glass crunching, distortion, thump.

Rationale – Why you chose this idea; why will it make a good project? List the skills that you have and the techniques that you have or plan to develop and can therefore use.

I chose this idea because of what I've been watching recently, my skills include being able to format and write a script which lessens the workload. My other skill includes being able to use premiere pro quick and efficiently which means it will be easy for me to edit and add in the needed SFX and visuals.

Primary and Secondary Research – Specific research that backs up your idea (how have you gathered your research/ information/ data and why is your plan relevant to it?

Requirements & Resources – Cast - Bradley Halliwell (camera operator, director, script writer and researcher)

Constraints and Contingency – My main constraint is time. To avoid it becoming an issue I will do the work in reverse, I will create my project and then I'll do the necessary paperwork, so I know I will have something to show for at the end of this unit.

Legal and Ethical Considerations – To avoid any legal issues, I will not upload it to any social media platforms, there are no ethical references in my work

Proposed Schedule – 20 December 2024

As they grapple with the decision to destroy their research, the stakes escalate—culminating in a fiery incident at a secluded cabin. While the media chalks it up to an absurd accident (a faulty toaster), the truth soon comes to the surface when it's revealed our protagonist has fallen into a hole. Mixing tension, mystery, and humour, this story explores the craziness of a kooky old man. Starting with him falling down a hole trying to get to his outhouse and due to falling into the hole, the toasting bread was left unattended and causing a fire.

My primary research will be generalising the term, tweens, while giving a detailed definition what a tween is, while my secondary research will discuss tween targeted tv shows and what makes them good. By conducting this research, it will prevent me from displacing my target audience and will keep me within the guidelines of what is appropriate for a tween.
